Hebrew School Teachers (K-7th grade) 

Burbank Temple Emanu El (BTEE) is a progressive Conservative synagogue located in Burbank, California. We are a welcoming and participatory Jewish community that honors traditions, celebrates diversity, and practices an authentic and dynamic Judaism. 

BTEE’s Hebrew School offers an inviting and vibrant environment and is committed to building a strong sense of Jewish community among our students. We are committed to providing a meaningful, engaging and positive Jewish education and experience for our children. 

We are looking for Hebrew School teachers for our K-7th Grade classes. The school runs on Sunday mornings (9:30am-12pm) in person at the temple in Burbank (K-7th grade). Third-7th graders also meet on the first Tuesday of the month online (4:30-5:30pm) and on one Saturday evening a month for Havdalah & more in person (5:30-7pm). 

Ideal candidates will: 

• Have a strong knowledge and understanding of Jewish practice and culture
• Have experience teaching and working with kids 
• Be energetic, engaging, fun and be able to mix both non-traditional and traditional methods of teaching 
• Have the ability to adapt curriculum to personal teaching style and enhance the provided curriculum 
• Have at least a basic knowledge of the Hebrew language (reading and prayer) 

Duration: Part Time 

Salary: Pay is competitive, based on experience. $45-55/hr
