Limmud New York is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented part-time Event Administrator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of our flagship LearningFest event, taking place on Sunday, November 16 at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. 

The role involves managing logistics, budgeting, communications, and volunteer coordination. The Event Administrator works closely with the Limmud New York Co-Chairs and volunteer teams to ensure high-quality, impactful programming that aligns with our mission to celebrate Jewish life and learning in all its diversity.

Location: mainly remote; availability required periodically in Manhattan for occasional tasks, meetings, and on the event day

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week (flexible schedule), with 20-25 hours per week in early November, plus full-day availability required on Sunday, November 16.

Start date: Immediately

Pay: $35/hour

Timeline: We are currently looking for someone to join the team from now through December 2025, with the possibility of extending the contract through 2026 to support additional Jewish learning programs and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage event systems (registration, scheduling platforms, communications)
  • Organize, proofread, and upload materials to the website and event platforms
  • Respond promptly and professionally to participant inquiries by phone and email
  • Create, coordinate, and disseminate promotional content via social media, email, and partner networks
  • Serve as point of contact for presenters and Shuk vendors: confirming their participation and ensuring a smooth experience
  • Work with co-chairs on the day’s schedule, including room placement and timing for each presenter 
  • Oversee event logistics (including close coordination with venue representatives), room setup, tech needs, printed materials, food and drink, and signage
  • Coordinate babysitters and camp counselors for the children’s program
  • Orient and support volunteer teams and committees: assign roles, track tasks, and manage timelines
  • Provide on-site event support and troubleshoot day-of challenges

Skills & Qualifications

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented: able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong communicator: clear, concise, and professional in written and verbal communication
  • Project management experience: proven ability to plan and execute successful programs and events; familiarity with Limmud is a plus
  • Collaborative team player: experienced in working with volunteers and community groups
  • Tech-savvy: comfortable with Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Canva, and event registration tools
  • Marketing and outreach skills: experienced in creating promotional content and managing social media
  • Culturally aware and inclusive: knowledgeable about Jewish community life and values; respectful of diversity
  • Flexible and proactive: able to adapt to shifting needs with a solution-focused mindset
