JOB SUMMARY:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Holocaust Council. Pleasant self-starter with a broad range of skills will interface with all departments, and levels of personnel in Federation, volunteer leadership, and donors who call.  Capable of working independently with the ability to establish procedures to monitor own job activities and regulate tasks. Must possess the ability to adapt to change in priorities during the business day and handle multiple assignments. Professional demeanor, dependability, and flexibility are attributes in this position. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with private, public, parochial, Jewish Day and supplementary schools to facilitate a variety of Holocaust education programs including survivor speaks, adopt a survivor, etc.
    • Promote programs in schools
    • Process registration
    • Place speakers in schools
    • Maintain teacher distribution lists
  • All administrative and details of Twin with a Survivor program
    • Initial contact with survivor or family of survivor
    • Send email introducing survivor and participant
    • Send certificates to B’nai Mitzvot participants
    • Maintain repository of speeches and projects
  • Summer Scholarships
    • Promote summer programs and scholarship opportunities to teachers
    • Organize dinners
  • Community Programs
    • Facilitate marketing processes for community programs
    • Maintaining information in Federation database system
  • Internal Meeting Management
    • Coordinate Holocaust Council meetings and other meetings including calendaring, food ordering, etc.

 

REQUIREMENT SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Proficieny in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • BBEC database (training will be provided)
  • Excellent telephone manners and good command of the English language
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Diligent follow up
