The IACT (Inspired, Active, Committed, Transformed) Birthright and Student Life Coordinator at Northeastern Hillel focuses on immersive Israel experiences, specifically recruiting, coordinating, and running Northeastern Hillel Birthright trips as well as general student engagement. Additionally, the IACT Birthright and Student Life Coordinator manages and supervises the Israel Engagement Interns who recruit for Birthright through one-on-one coffee chats centered around Birthright interest and Hillel involvement and also plan events and assist with pre-trip and post-trip engagement.
It is vital that our IACT Birthright and Student Life Coordinator also works with our student leaders, interns, and student micro communities at Northeastern Hillel. They advise students, teach learning fellowships, and generally engage the Northeastern University Hillel community as a member of our Student Life team. The goal is for them to build authentic relationships with students that connect them to our Hillel, the Jewish community, and Israel. They inspire students to be passionate about Israel by meeting them where they’re at. The ACT Birthright and Student Life Coordinator connects Israel to students’ interests and passions.
Northeastern Hillel is a city school on a co-op campus. A majority of the undergraduate population participates in full time paid internships every other semester starting the spring of their sophomore year. We have a growing Hillel that has recently expanded in the areas of engagement and outreach. Our team consists of ten professionals. We serve approximately 1,500 Jewish students. Our Hillel offers numerous opportunities of involvement such as committee, religious communities, fellowships and internship programs.
About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at more than 550 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
