Who We Are  

The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Overview  

We are seeking a detail-oriented Creative Associate to support the execution of design and creative projects across the OU. This mid-level role works closely with the Senior Creative Strategist and Creative Director to ensure deliverables are high-quality, on-brand, and produced on schedule.  

The Creative Associate will independently manage smaller projects (such as flyers, basic social media assets, and simple collateral) and support larger campaigns collaboratively with senior leadership. While this is not a hands-on design role, it requires a strong eye for design, brand consistency, and the ability to guide projects to completion.  

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Support the execution of creative projects/assets/campaigns from start to finish, providing feedback and guidance to designers, copywriters, and vendors.  
  • Manage smaller projects independently, such as flyers, basic social media graphics, and simple collateral.  
  • Provide feedback on design and copy to ensure clarity, brand alignment, and overall quality.  
  • Proofread and review creative deliverables for accuracy, grammar, and consistency.  
  • Collaborate with the creative team to develop campaign names, taglines, and messaging when needed.  
  • Meet with internal departments to understand creative needs and communicate requirements to the design team.  
  • Partner with the Creative Coordinator to organize assets, track revisions, and maintain smooth workflows.  
  • Contribute ideas for optimizing creative output, improving user experience, and enhancing impact while maintaining the OU brand feel.  

 

Qualifications & Skills  

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Design, or a related field, or comparable experience.  
  • 2–4 years of experience in creative project execution, design management, or related fields.  
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.  
  • An eye for design and brand consistency; basic design knowledge is a plus, but not required.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading and providing clear feedback.  
  • Comfortable working independently on smaller projects and collaboratively on larger ones.  
  • Experience in nonprofit, media, or agency environments preferred but not required.  
Salary60,000.00 - 70,000.00 Annual
