United Hatzalah is the largest independent, non-profit, fully-volunteer emergency medical services organization that provides first response care in Israel within minutes of the initial call of distress.

Friends of United Hatzalah, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which supports the work of United Hatzalah of Israel, is currently seeking a Program Manager to join our expanding US-based team.

This full-time position based in Miami, Florida will play a vital role in leading and managing a new initiative aimed at providing support for lifesaving in Israel through teens and youth. The initiative will create tangible ways for young people to give charitable and humanitarian contributions to United Hatzalah creating a ripple effect that transcends generations to come, and inspires a legacy of generosity to ensure that United Hatzalah lives on in perpetuity.

This role requires strong leadership, program management skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of those in need. The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Initiative, ensuring its successful launch and long-term impact.

The ideal candidate is a people person and is excellent with multitasking and prioritizing. They should be passionate about United Hatzalah’s mission and will work closely and collaboratively with US and Israeli team members. This position will work within a friendly and sociable team full of like-minded individuals and grow a meaningful career in the non-profit sector. The position reports to the National Major Gifts Director in Florida.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiative Leadership: Lead and oversee all aspects of the Initiative, ensuring it aligns with the organization's mission and strategic goals
  • Program Planning and Management: Develop a comprehensive program plan, including defining objectives, timelines, and deliverables. Establish effective program management processes to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure efficient implementation
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and relevant donors. Collaborate with diverse partners to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability
  • Budget Oversight: Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring effective utilization of funds and adherence to financial guidelines. Monitor expenses, track financial performance, and report on budgetary status
  • Team Coordination: Recruit and manage a team of dedicated staff and volunteers to support the implementation of the Initiative. Provide leadership, guidance, and support while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish a robust monitoring and evaluation framework to track program outcomes and impact. Regularly analyze data, identify trends, and use findings to enhance program effectiveness
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular progress reports, impact assessments, and other relevant documentation. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Advocacy and Awareness: Collaborate with the organization's communication team to develop effective advocacy strategies and promotional materials that raise awareness about the Initiative and its impact on saving lives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, international development, social sciences). A master's degree is preferred
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in program management, preferably in the non-profit sector, with a track record of successfully launching and managing complex projects
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to timelines
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams, volunteers, and stakeholders effectively
  • Knowledge and understanding of global health issues and the challenges faced by vulnerable communities
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and impact assessment methodologies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a compelling manner
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships
  • Proficiency in using project management software and MS Office tools

Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary, with comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, retirement plan with employer match, and paid holidays/time off.
