Job Summary
Camp Orot, a Jewish Day Camp on the Upper West Side, welcomes boys and girls ages two through six. Our campers enjoy activities in our indoor air-conditioned facility and outdoor fun in our two playgrounds. In addition to swimming, art, music, science, and sports, we offer special programs, trips, theme days and more. Hot, kosher lunches are served daily.
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an enriching summer experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children of ages 4-5. You will be responsible for supporting the Head Counselor and maintaining the safety and engagement of the campers.
Duties
- Supervise and engage with campers in various activities such as sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures.
- Support Head Counselor in Providing emotional support to campers, fostering a positive camp experience.
- Ensure the safety of all campers by adhering to safety protocols and responding to any emergencies.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of camp facilities.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a supportive team environment.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experiences:
- Experience/Interest working in a camp setting or similar environments such as daycare or early childhood education.
- Previous experience caring for children through babysitting or similar roles.
