Position Summary 

At FIDF, every dollar entrusted by our donors represents a powerful act of support for Israel’s soldiers. As the Senior Project Accountant, you’ll own the full lifecycle of restricted fund management —ensuring critical funds are handled with transparency, accuracy, and integrity. 

This role is ideal for a nonprofit accounting professional who wants their financial expertise to directly impact a meaningful cause. You will lead the management of restricted gifts, pledges, and grants by setting up Fund IDs, monitoring incoming donations, overseeing program disbursements, and ensuring every dollar is accurately tracked and aligned with donor intent. Your work will sustain life-changing initiatives including scholarships, wellbeing missions, and capital projects—helping those who protect and serve. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee nonprofit gift program accounting to ensure transparent tracking, allocation, and reconciliation of restricted gifts and pledges 
  • Manage financial reporting for donor-funded and grant-supported programs, aligning with nonprofit compliance and audit requirements 
  • Ensure adherence to donor intent, grant terms, and nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP, fund accounting) 
  • Collaborate across Development, Finance, and Program teams to support mission delivery and funding alignment 
  • Improve processes for financial stewardship, data accuracy, and nonprofit operational efficiency 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3–5 years of nonprofit experience managing restricted gifts or grants 
  • Experience with nonprofit grant reporting, compliance, and audits 
  • Proven ability to optimize financial processes and ensure donor intent 
  • Skilled in Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, or similar CRM and accounting systems 
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field 
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to connect financial data to mission impact 

Bonus Points If You Have: 

  • A CPA or nonprofit financial certification 
  • Experience with grant compliance, event fundraising, or audit prep 
  • Familiarity with tools like Power BI or Crystal Reports
