Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a warm, inclusive, and joyful classroom environment grounded in Jewish values and traditions.
  • Develop and implement emergent, play-based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach.
  • Integrate Jewish culture, holidays, Hebrew language, and rituals meaningfully into daily learning experiences.
  • Observe, document, and reflect on children’s interests and development to guide curriculum planning.
  • Design beautiful, intentional learning environments that inspire exploration, inquiry, and creativity.
  • Collaborate with children, families, and colleagues to co-create meaningful, child-centered experiences.
  • Utilize documentation tools (e.g., learning stories, portfolios, photo displays) to make children's thinking and learning visible.
  • Encourage children’s social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth through authentic relationships and experiences.
  • Foster a strong connection to Jewish identity, community, and traditions in age-appropriate ways.
  • Communicate regularly with families to support a home-school connection rooted in respect and partnership.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children according to school policies and licensing standards.

 

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field.
  • An understanding or willingness to learn Reggio Emilia philosophy and play-based learning approaches.
  • Passionate about early childhood education and Jewish life and learning.
  • Knowledge of Jewish customs, holidays, values, and Hebrew (basic proficiency preferred).
  • Reflective, creative, and collaborative educator with strong documentation and planning skills.
  • Current first aid/CPR certification and background clearance (per state/local requirements).

This is a full-time, salaried position. Part-time considered for the right candidate. Salary is dependent on education and experience, starting at $50K for full time/school year for new teachers. Up to an additional $10K is offered for summer work. Paid holidays and vacations. Health Insurance and retirement benefits offered.
