Our client, ASHAR is a well-established N-8 Yeshiva in Rockland County. They seek an experienced, energetic school leader to serve as Principal of its Boys Division, Grades 2-8.  The successful candidate will be joining a vibrant, thriving school led by an experienced Menahel/Dean and assume responsibility for all aspects of its Boys Division. He will partner with the Dean and other senior administrators towards the overall success of the Yeshiva, which also includes an Early Childhood Program and a Girls Division.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

  1.  Establishing, supervising and implementing the Yeshiva’s Grades 2-8 Boys Division Limudei Kodesh curriculum, in conjunction with the Menahel/ Dean
  1. Regularly mentoring (and when feasible modeling) Rebbeim towards the incorporation of best practices in teaching methodology and optimal dissemination of subject matter and skills
  1. Training of Limudei Kodesh Rebbeim and teachers in relevant educational programs and technology
  1. Regularly reviewing Rebbeim’s lesson plans to ensure that the established curriculum is being taught, properly paced and appropriately differentiated.
  1. Regular observation of Rebbeim
  1. Guiding Rebbeim in classroom management, above/below grade-level differentiation and parent communication
  1. Monitoring student progress through frequent observation of students and ongoing communication with administrators, teachers, parents and students
  1. Implementing, coordinating and maintaining student discipline standards supportive of a school environment conducive to academic, social and religious student growth
  1. Establishing effective school procedures, together with other administrators
  1. Grades 2-8 admissions, together with the Dean and Assistant Principal of General Studies
  1. Supervision of group activities, such as arrival and dismissal, Minyan, assemblies, special programs and trips
  1. Monitoring General Studies progress through regular communication with the Assistant Principal of General Studies, who is directly responsible for all General Studies curriculum, instruction and teacher supervision.
  1. Strategizing with parents, teachers, therapists and administrators towards the establishment of behavior and learning plans for individual students, as needed
  1. Monitoring the coordination of school district student services, textbook and technology acquisition, resource room, individual education plans provided by school districts or outside therapists, and ACHIEVE satellite clinic, all of which will be the direct responsibility of a Resource Room/ Title Funding Coordinator and others
  1. Developing and implementing co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, interdisciplinary projects, journals and competitions, together with other relevant administrators
  1. Facilitating appropriate school-parent communication, and efficiently responding to concerns
  1. Arrangement of relevant professional development for Rebbeim and staff in consultation with other educational administrators
  1. Guiding substitute teachers
  1. Interviewing potential staff, and advising the Menahel/ Dean on hiring Rebbeim
  1. Working with the Eighth Grade Rebbe, parents and other administrators on mesivta/high school placement and tracking.


  • Semicha, Masters and a minimum of three years administrative experience
