Position Summary:

UJA’s Network department supports 60+ agency partners - including JCCs, Hillels, camps, and human services agencies - in achieving and maintaining best-in-class performance by offering a wide menu of financial and non-financial supports.  Within that framework, the Talent Development professionals provide resources and learning opportunities to nonprofit professionals so that they can continue to grow within the Jewish nonprofit sector. We know that it is our workforce that is the most essential element of any excellent organization.

 

The Program Associate for Talent Development focuses on the value of professional development opportunities from the perspective of individual beneficiaries and makes intentional connections that address challenges and/or support advancement within nonprofit organizations. The person plays a crucial role in designing and delivering educational content, connecting with academic institutions, faculty, students, and trainers. The ideal candidate has 4 years of program design and facilitation experience, can manage significant responsibility, and works collaboratively as part of a multi-dimensional team.  

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Connect and leverage professional development programs with other critical supports offered across the Network Department to nonprofits within UJA’s sphere.
  • Be part of strategic planning group that works to strengthen and diversify the pool of talented professionals choosing to make careers in the Jewish nonprofit sector. 
  • Contribute to overall Talent Development strategic priorities including existing field building programs such as the Institute for Jewish Executive Leadership (IJEL), the Ruskay Institute for Jewish Professional Leadership and alumni programs.  
  • Be an active contributor in development of program design and implementation for various existing and emerging cohort learning programs (for example, YESH: the Institute for Newish Jewish Professionals). Manage various aspects of the programs and supervise a coordinator who provides logistical and administrative support.
  • Design and facilitate various Graduate Fellowship programs, including educational content, recruitment, and selection of cohort.
  • Coordinate CLIP program, including placements and internship experience at UJA. Coordinate graduate internship learning program.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • At least four years of program or project implementation, cohort design and facilitation or event planning.
  • Ability to lead project teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and long-range planning skills including the ability to manage many projects simultaneously and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to speak publicly.
  • Commitment to Jewish nonprofit sector.
  • Ability to be flexible and keep a sense of humor under pressure.
  • Fueled by a passion for Jewish nonprofit field, organizing and managing programs to strengthen individuals, organizations, and communities.

 

Salary Information:

The salary for this role is $60,000; commensurate with experience and qualifications listed above.

We offer a generous number of vacation days and have the Jewish holidays off as well. Fridays our offices close early (October to March at 3:00 pm and April to September at 4:00 pm). All so you can relax and recharge.
