Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Location: Chabad Intown (On-site)
Hours: Part-Time (approximately 15–20 hours per week; flexible schedule)

Position Summary:
Chabad Intown is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. This in-house position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, overseeing payroll, tracking budgets, and supporting financial planning and reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a mission-driven nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online)

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and donations

  • Prepare and process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring compliance with tax and labor regulations

  • Create and monitor budgets and track expenses across programs and departments

  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and financial planning

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial documents

  • Generate monthly financial reports and provide insights to leadership

  • Support annual budgeting process and assist with audit preparation

  • Ensure timely filing of tax documents and financial compliance reports

  • Collaborate with leadership to support grant reporting, donor tracking, and program-specific financials
  • Work with auditors on the annual financial audit to provide answers to their questions, and back up support for revenue and expenses. 

 

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a nonprofit or small business setting

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Excel, and other financial tools

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, payroll processing, and budgeting

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial information

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Familiarity with nonprofit financial operations, tax filings, and grant reporting (preferred)

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience working with donor management systems or CRM tools

  • Knowledge of nonprofit compliance and IRS guidelines
