Description

The Executive Director is responsible for the implementation of the policies of the Board of Trustees. The ED reports to the President, and collaborates with the Board in strategy, process improvement, and implementation of programs, and works closely with the clergy and lay leaders. Responsible for day to day operations of the synagogue. Also includes maintaining relationships with tenants of the building.
A successful ED candidate should exhibit the following characteristics:
-Innovation and creativity in generating ideas for quick response are critical to daily success in the job.
Implementing practical, timely solutions.
-Self-assurance, and the confidence to purposely drive toward results while constantly problem-solving and engaging the commitment of others is essential.
-A leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way is important.
-Build rapport and relationships with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style.
-Emphasize results and effective systems that achieve results through and with people.
