Role Overview

Make your mark on Jewish student life throughout Minnesota by joining Minnesota Hillel as the Assistant Director heading our new Multi-Campus expansion efforts. This new and exciting role is a prime opportunity for an entrepreneurial professional to reach hundreds of Jewish students across the state, inspiring students to make meaningful connections to Jewish life wherever they are.  

As the Assistant Director: Multi-Campus you should be entrepreneurial by nature. Your skills in finding, engaging, motivating, connecting, and inspiring diverse Jewish populations will drive you to build strategic and actionable relationships between Hillel and Minnesota colleges and universities; ensuring the needs of Jewish students are met. You will also have key responsibilities for helping develop the strategies and resources needed to advance the mission of Hillel’s multi-campus efforts, while also serving as an invaluable member of the larger Minnesota Hillel team.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, articulate, and promote a dynamic and innovative mission and vision for multi-campus engagement
  • Work strategically with area universities/colleges so that Hillel is an integral component of campus life; create strategic alliances with different departments and schools, and represent the Jewish community on campus.
  • Facilitate pluralistic and diverse Jewish programming on multiple campuses, engaging with and encouraging students to develop meaningful Jewish journeys and experiences, as well as take on leadership roles.
  • Create a pluralistic, inclusive and innovative Jewish educational vision for Hillel’s multi-campus work
  • Work to identify and obtain resources to support Hillel’s work on various campuses throughout the state
  • Oversee marketing and communication to multi-campus students and stakeholders

On a day to day basis you will

  • Engage in outreach to students, university partners, community stakeholders, and multi-campus faculty and alumni
  • Develop programs, engagement strategies, and educational opportunities in partnership with students and campus leadership
  • Seek out resources within the campus and greater communities to support your work
  • Track engagement efforts in the Hillel database, and map the communities being served
  • Develop and implement a communications and marketing strategy for multi-campus engagement

What You’ve Accomplished

  • 2-5 years of proven success in Jewish communal work, including, but not limited to organizations serving young adult populations
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Proven success planning and implementing events, developing strong relationships, and managing stakeholder relationships
  • Proven ability to self-start, work independently, and think strategically

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • Ability to manage multi projects (campuses) at the same time
  • Track record of inspiring others through excellence in programming in interpersonal relationship building
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A mode of transportation and willingness to travel to students and campuses near and far

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $55,000-75,000

Founded in 1940, Minnesota Hillel has been serving students at the University of Minnesota in our current location since 1955. Through Jewish learning, Shabbat and holiday gatherings, Israel travel, social programming, and more, Minnesota Hillel serves over 400 students on an annual basis. In the years ahead, Minnesota Hillel looks to spread out wings to serve hundreds more students on campuses across the state. Situated between the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Hillel building is literally situated not only in the heart of campus, but also with prime access to all that the cities have to offer.
