Lead Inclusive Engagement and Connection across a Vibrant Jewish Community
The Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County is seeking a strategic, relational, and community-minded Director of Community Engagement to lead efforts that connect individuals to Jewish life, identity, and impact through the Federation. This highly visible leadership role strengthens our communal infrastructure and deepens our presence across the diverse Jewish population in South Palm Beach County.
The Director will develop and implement inclusive engagement strategies, foster meaningful relationships with key constituencies, and serve as a central connector across organizations, demographics, and generations. By guiding people from initial connection to active involvement, this role ensures Federation is at the heart of Jewish life in the region.
Role and Impact
The Director of Community Engagement drives a strategic, people-centered approach to building Jewish community. Through leadership of targeted outreach efforts, supervision of grassroots ambassadors and professional staff, and cross-sector collaboration, this role advances Federation’s mission to build a strong, inclusive, and vibrant Jewish future.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Community Engagement
- Develop and manage an overarching engagement strategy aligned with Federation’s strategic goals.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key audiences including young adults, families, empty nesters, newcomers, and unaffiliated Jews.
- Team Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise a team of volunteer ambassadors focused on demographic or geographic constituencies.
- Oversee the PJ Library Director to support family and early childhood engagement.
- Community Building & Collaboration
- Represent Federation at select community events and serve as an ambassador for its mission.
- Build and maintain partnerships with synagogues, Jewish day schools, and local organizations.
- Collaborate across internal departments to align engagement and philanthropic initiatives.
- Engagement Pipeline & Impact Measurement
- Create models to transition constituents from community involvement to Federation leadership and giving.
- Utilize data and feedback tools to assess impact and refine engagement efforts over time.
Thrive Here If You Have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Jewish studies, nonprofit management, sociology, education, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Jewish communal work, nonprofit engagement, or community-building leadership
- A deep understanding of and passion for Jewish identity, tradition, and inclusivity across denominations
- Proven ability to build relationships, lead teams, and manage programs from idea to execution
- Familiarity with the South Florida Jewish community is a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and digital literacy (CRM, MS Office, event platforms)
