Summary:

The Denver Kehillah (TDK), a Modern Orthodox Shul on the East side of Denver, seeks an experienced individual for the role of Engagement and Administrative Director (EAD). Reporting to the Rabbi, this position is pivotal in shaping the overall member experience—from initial inquiry to full engagement—including lifecycle events, sponsorships/fundraising, community outreach, and operational support. The EAD manages most shul inquiries, facilitates meetings with the Rabbi, gives tours, and supports events with excellence and a strong customer service ethic while maintaining key synagogue processes. The EAD collaborates closely with the President of the Board of Directors (BOD), other board members, and volunteers to coordinate events, manage the programming calendar, and oversee communication channels such as the TDK Website and WhatsApp.

Responsibilities:

Membership Recruitment and Satisfaction:

  • Implement strategies developed by the Rabbi and BOD to recruit, engage, and retain members.
  • Respond to membership inquiries, introduce prospective members to lay and professional leadership, and manage membership applications.
  • Coordinate membership renewal, High Holy Day seating, and dues assistance processes.
  • Maintain membership database for accuracy and completeness and manage updates of member information in ShulCloud.
  • Develop and manage systems to recruit sponsorships for synagogue programs (e.g., weekly kiddush, events).
  • Collaborate with lay leaders on fundraising initiatives, including annual appeals and special events.
  • Send out Membership Welcome letters / package. 
  • Track members dues payments and send notification of dues delinquency.

Community Engagement & Event Planning:

  • Serve as Volunteer Coordinator, organizing, recruiting, and managing volunteers for events and initiatives.
  • Liaise with the BOD and volunteers to ensure effective communication and hospitality.
  • Coordinate synagogue programming, manage the programming calendar, budget and oversee event planning and logistics.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff on all aspects of event execution, including scheduling, communication, and set-up/tear-down.

  • Manage facilities logistics for events and rentals, ensuring spaces are prepared and operationally sound.
  • Track participation in programs / manage follow up with participants

Communications and Member Engagement Support:

  • Manage digital and print communications, including website updates, social media, and newsletters.
  • Create and distribute marketing materials in collaboration with volunteers and the BOD to promote events and engagement.
  • Ensure consistent, timely communication of upcoming events and programming to the community.
  • Answer phones, provide tours to prospective members or event rental clients, and serve as the welcoming “face” of TDK.

Administrative and Financial Support:

  • Assist in bookkeeping tasks including generating gift and tax letters, and coding revenue and expenses in coordination with financial oversight.
  • Oversee Gusto (payroll), quickbooks entries
  • Participate in budget preparation related to membership, events, and programming revenue.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and innovation projects as a member of the leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in membership management, community engagement, sponsorship, or sales.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (ShulCloud preferred), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
  • Understanding of Jewish traditions and synagogue life preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Part-time remote work and flexible hours may be available.
Salary25,000.00 - 35,000.00 Annual
