Role Overview
Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and energized by behind-the-scenes work that makes a real impact? Hillel at Stanford is seeking a Development and Social Media Associate to support our fundraising operations and help tell the story of Jewish life on campus through compelling digital content.
In this role, you’ll manage data systems, process contributions, support donor communications, and play a key role in our social media presence. You'll collaborate with colleagues to share the impact of Hillel at Stanford on Instagram and Facebook, keeping our supporters informed, inspired, and connected.
This position may require occasional weekend and Jewish holiday work in support of events and programs. It may also involve assisting with physical tasks such as carrying supplies, event materials, or equipment during event setup and clean-up.

What You’ll Do
Administrative Support
- Prepare fundraising reports and mailing lists
- Support internal database hygiene and segmentation efforts
- Assist with prospect research and prepare briefing materials for senior staff
- Help manage department calendars, timelines, and documentation
Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Collaborate with the Director of Development and Executive Director to implement and execute Hillel’s annual campaign strategy
- Support donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts by helping manage a portfolio of current and prospective donors
- Coordinate prospect meetings and prepare follow-up materials
- Conduct donor research and help identify new giving opportunities
- Data Management & Gift Processing
- Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM system (Little Green Light)
- Process incoming contributions in a timely and accurate manner
- Generate acknowledgment letters and tax receipts
- Oversee the donor stewardship calendar and ensure timely follow-ups
Marketing, Communications & Social Media
- Draft and prepare donor communications, such as thank-you notes and emails
- Work with colleagues to create and post engaging content on Instagram and Facebook that reflects Hillel’s mission and impact
- Collect and curate photos, stories, and testimonials that demonstrate student experiences and program outcomes
- Maintain a donor and social media communications calendar and contribute creative ideas for audience engagement
- Help ensure our online voice is warm, consistent, and aligned with Hillel's values
Event Support & Coordination
- Provide logistical support for development-related events (e.g., parlor meetings, alumni receptions)
- Coordinate guest lists, RSVPs, nametags, and printed materials
- Assist with event setup and clean-up, including carrying supplies or materials as needed
- Ensure events are properly tracked in the CRM and followed up on accordingly
- Note: This role may require occasional weekend and Jewish holiday work in support of events and fundraising activities
Team Support & Administration
- Participate in professional development opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the development team and Hillel as a whole
What You’ll Bring to the Job

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with or interest in social media content creation (Instagram & Facebook)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively
- Willingness to support occasional physical tasks (event setup/clean-up) and flexible schedule when needed (weekends/holidays)
- Experience with donor database systems (Little Green Light preferred)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); Canva or other design tools a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; 0–3 years relevant experience

- Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000
