Religious School Director (Part-time)

8-10 hours per week

The position of part-time Religious School Educator at Temple Beth Shalom is for the school year 2025/2026.

The candidate is expected to oversee the operation of our Religious School which has 110 students from Kindergarten through 7^th Grade and additional students in 8^th-10^th grades.

Our program meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm and Sunday mornings from 9:30-11:30am.

The educator would be responsible for:

1. Hiring any new or replacement teachers
2. Work with office staff regarding student registration and supply purchases
3. Finding substitute teachers when necessary
4. Overseeing the High Holy Days youth morning programs
5. Attending family (Friday night) Shabbat services when a religious school grade is participating (4-5 services a school year).
6. Overseeing the teacher’s assistant program comprised of high school students (Madrichim)
7. Communicating with families
8. Addressing student behavioral issues
9. Scheduling and supporting all school programs that are not within the classroom including, but not limited to:
   1. when a grade is participating in a Shabbat family service
   2. when a grade is participating in a family education program

May work from home except to attend 1 staff meeting a week, occasional Shabbat services, and during Religious School hours.
