What You’ll be Responsible For:

Serve as regional director for the annual March of the Living, responsible for developing and implementing a two-week program for teens and accompanying staff, adults and survivors in Poland and Israel; Director of teen Jewish experiences, overseeing and implementing teen Israel experience scholarships, One Happy Camper program for first-time participants in Jewish overnight camps, and Jewish summer camp scholarships. Responsible for financial management of these programs, including budgeting, financial record keeping, collection of fees and payment of expenses. 

The Director of Teen Engagement Experiences reports to the Chief Jewish Education Officer and works collaboratively with the Jewish Education and Engagement Team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as Broward director of March of the Living: develop and implement teen itineraries in Poland and Israel and work with Chief Jewish Education & Engagement Officer to develop adult itineraries in Poland and Israel
  • Develop and oversee marketing (before, during and after the March), application and acceptance procedures for teen engagement programs, working with the Marketing Department, the International March of the Living, Foundation for Jewish Camp and program partners.
  • Recruit teens, staff, adults, and survivors for the annual March
  • Supervise and assign tasks to a March team composed of Federation professionals, community education volunteer staff, medical professionals, and Holocaust survivors
  • Develop and implement educational goals, activities and programs for Marchers, before, during, and after the March.
  • Oversight of budget and finances of March of the Living and other teen engagement programs, in collaboration with our Finance Department, includingcollecting fees, processing payment of vendors, and working with a Financial Assistance Committee to award scholarship aid for March of the Living and Camp Scholarships.
  • Manage alumni relations, including alumni database, creating and distributing alumni communications and social media, events.
  • Work with FRD team to continue to build March of the Living endowment.
  • Supervision of Survivor Friends program and grant.
  • Oversee and implement Jewish Federation initiatives to increase teen participation in community initiatives supporting immersive Jewish experiences, in collaboration with Marketing Department:
    • One Happy Camper
    • Financial assistance for Jewish overnight camps
    • Israel experiences scholarships for high school students
  • Develop and implement an approach to continuing engagement of alumni of One Happy Camper / Camp Scholarships, teen Israel experiences, and March of the Living

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, strongly organized, knowledge and ability to use databases, computer spreadsheets, word processing, social media, and other basic programs and tools.
  • Self-motivated and ability to be self-directing, while accepting constructive feedback from supervisor and colleagues
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, love of the Jewish people and community, outstanding relationship manager
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Good judgement, problem solving, supervision, and decision-making skills
  • Creativity in creating programs and in improving processes

Required Experience:

  • Bachelors of Art or Bachelors of Science degree, 2-7 years of experience in a Jewish youth or education programming leadership role, basic knowledge of Holocaust, Israel, Jewish communities, and working knowledge of Jewish history, culture, and traditions.
  • PC literacy with strong competency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), social media tools, and ability to quickly master new software
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with all kinds of people with professional approach
