Position Summary:

The Director of Clinical & Program Services will be accountable for the administration, and oversight of FamilyMatters Clinical Programs including Family Preservation and respite programs

Role and Responsibilities

This person’s job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide clinical and programs oversite to ensure that service delivery is performed according to the agency’s mission, policy and procedures, and philosophy of care
  • Responsible for the development, implementation of all programs offered by FamilyMatters
  • Demonstrate superior clinical skills as evidenced by understanding methods, practices, and therapies beneficial for the treatment of the agency clientele and the ability to communicate and implement best practices to all clinical programs
  • Create innovative curriculums and appropriate staffing to ensure that all programming activities support our client’s needs
  • Coordinate instructors, locations, supplies, and materials for all programming activities.
  • Maintain complete documentation of all program services
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating activities for Family Fun Days and Wellness Days, Sib Shops, Parent Support Groups, etc.
  • Create marketing materials such as flyers, e-blasts and other publications as needed for agency programming
  • Ensure positive and enriching experiences for children and families through positive communication with families, feedback, and appropriate follow-up
  • Responsible for program recruitment, maintain attendance records, and collect outcome data for all programs
  • Identify unmet needs in the community and create a plan to meet service gaps
  • Supervise and assist in the creation of direct mail pieces, newsletters, updating brochures, fact sheets and other written materials
  • Organize the collection of data, information, and photographs for the annual newsletter
  • Mindfully integrate the Trauma Informed Care Model and Person-Centered Approach into all procedures, practices, and daily interactions and demonstrate an understanding of and competence in- serving clinically and culturally diverse populations
  • Conduct all intake assessments, treatment planning and interventions, discharge and transition planning and after-care services for all persons served
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of the quality of clinical work including observing work and auditing client files and documentation
  • Provide direct supervision to agency clinicians to ensure quality services are being rendered in a manner that adheres to agency policies, professional standards, and licensure regulations
  • Conduct interim and annual employee evaluations to assess performance and promote growth
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision and feedback on all agency clinical case management and family preservation programs to ensure all clients are being served according to best practices and standards
  • Oversee internship program to ensure a high quality, enriching learning experience for interns. Provide direction to task supervisors and conduct annual reviews of interns as needed
  • Manage the scheduling of the on-call rotation calendar, ensure clinical coverage, and provide on-call support in rotation with the clinical and residential team
  • Serve as backup to agency on-call systems to provide guidance and direction to on-call clinicians in crisis situations
  • Follow PA/NJ Child Abuse Reporting Rules

Physical requirements:

Staff must be physically capable of driving an automobile in a safe manner.  Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time as needed.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; able to lift, push or pull up to 25 lbs. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling or other degree in a related field in which the emphasis has been on Behavioral Sciences
  • Licensed Clinician by the Department of Professional Regulations in Pennsylvania   
    • The Director of Clinical & Program Services should have a minimum of seven years of experience in an agency or equivalent experience which demonstrates expertise in clinical and supervisory areas
    • A demonstrated ability to utilize oral and writing skills (e.g., exemplary proficiency in the use of the English language including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition.)  The Director of Clinical & Program Services will be required to have or develop a high degree of proficiency in the use of dictation and recording procedures.  The Clinical Director will also be required to have an ability to implement effective and efficient case management, reporting, recording and correspondence
    • A working knowledge of human development and behavior, current therapeutic techniques (e.g., including individual, group and family counseling fields, behavioral analysis and intervention, systems analysis, and intervention)
    • An ability to effectively supervise and consult with staff regarding the above, as well as an ability to maintain an open-door policy for staff
    • First Aid and CPR certification
    • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
    • Must maintain Bodily Injury Liability insurance of $100,000 per claim, $300,000 per incident on their personal automobile when driving clients and their children
