6th Grade Religious School Teacher & Mitzvah Corp Service Learning Coordinator

Schedule: Sundays, during religious school hours
Hourly Wage: $38–$45 per hour, DOE (depending on experience)

Job Description: We’re seeking an energetic and caring 6th Grade Religious School Teacher to inspire our students on Sunday mornings! In this role, you’ll guide pre- and post-B’nai Mitzvah students through engaging lessons using our innovative curriculum, fostering a love of Jewish learning, tradition, and community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Teach 6th grade Judaic studies using our ShalomLearning and Mitkadem programs.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clergy to enrich the learning experience.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and upcoming events.
Mitzvah Corp Coordinator:
During the last hour of religious school, you’ll lead our brand-new Mitzvah Corp service learning program for 6th and 7th graders. This is your chance to hype up hands-on Jewish learning—connecting classroom lessons to real-world action!
• Learning. Action. Reflection. Guide students as they explore Jewish values, take meaningful action in the community, and reflect on their experiences.
• Plan, organize, and supervise service projects that make a difference.
• Help students see that mitzvot (good deeds) matter—before and after their B’nai Mitzvah!
