Jewish Family Service & Children's Center of Clifton-Passaic (JFS) supports and strengthens the lives of families, children and adults, ensuring access to high quality, affordable mental health services. Founded in 1948 as a refugee resettlement agency, JFS has evolved into a full-service social services agency with a primary mission of supporting vulnerable populations in the community. We offer a comprehensive array of programs that address the community’s needs and challenges, including financial assistance, vocational rehabilitation, crisis intervention specializing in domestic violence and outpatient mental health services for young children, teens, adults and seniors. The agency provides non-denominational care with a focus on residents of Clifton and Passaic Counties.
Project SARAH (PS), a program of the Jewish Family Service and Children’s Center of Clifton/Passaic, is a culturally specific program which services survivors of the domestic violence and sexual abuse throughout the State of New Jersey. PS provides outreach and prevention work for the Jewish community, comprehensive therapy and case management services, and legal assistance to survivors in need.
Job Summary:
The Rabbinic Outreach Liaison will oversee the prevention and outreach efforts in the Orthodox Jewish community throughout the state of NJ. The focus of these prevention efforts is to support survivors and prevent others from being victimized by domestic violence and sexual abuse.
The incumbent will have contact with schools and community leaders regarding implementation and development of effective prevention programs as well as ensure presentations are culturally informed and specific to the various communities within Orthodox Jewry. The Rabbinic Outreach Liaison stays abreast of current community as well as domestic violence and sexual abuse resources and provides referrals to Project SARAH as clinical needs arise.
