Position Summary 

Temple Israel is seeking a warm, organized, and creative professional to serve as our Young Family Programs Coordinator (YFPC). This part-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, people-centered environment and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for families with young children. 

The YFPC will play a vital role in shaping and growing programs for families with children ages 0–2, ensuring an exceptional experience for those just beginning their journey at Temple Israel. This multifaceted role combines program coordination, family engagement, administrative support, and marketing responsibilities. The YFPC works closely with teaching staff, families, and internal departments to ensure smooth operations, strong communication, and an inviting community for all. 

Key Responsibilities 

Family Engagement & Communication 

• Serve as a warm and responsive point of contact for Parenting Center families 

• Send weekly newsletters and manage daily communication via email and phone 

• Maintain class engagement through the Remini app 

• Create a welcoming and connected community by selecting class parents, organizing parent events, and offering opportunities for connection and support 

Program Coordination & Administration 

• Oversee daily program logistics, including scheduling staff, booking rooms, coordinating snack and materials, and ensuring classes are well-resourced 

• Work with the Administrative Director to manage enrollment, set up classes, and maintain program records 

• Collaborate with the Membership and Finance departments to ensure accurate billing and integration into broader congregational life 

Curriculum & Class Management 

• Evaluate and curate a dynamic, developmentally appropriate class menu each semester 

• Coordinate with and support instructors and specialists to ensure high-quality programming 

• Manage vendor relationships and contracts for external facilitators 

• Integrating the Parenting Center program and curriculum into the greater Early Childhood program, including holiday celebrations, scheduling specialists and booking appropriate spaces. 

 Marketing & Outreach 

• Promote programs through email campaigns, social media, community tours, and print materials 

• Work to grow the Parenting Center community by increasing visibility and enrollment 

• Develop and execute parent education and community-building events throughout the year 

Qualifications 

• Proven experience in program coordination or administration (experience in early childhood or family programming is a plus) 

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Proficient in digital tools for communication, enrollment, and scheduling (experience with platforms like Remini or ShulCloud a plus) 

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-service oriented 

• A collaborative team player who also takes initiative and works independently 

• Passion for working with families and helping build inclusive, welcoming community spaces
