Donor Development Services (DDS) is an integral part of UJA-Federation of New York’s fundraising efforts, specifically focused on supporting high-end donor engagement, customized relationship-building, cash collection efforts, and impactful philanthropy.

The Operations Assistant role provides essential administrative support and quality control for the Donor Development Services team. The ideal candidate is both tech-savvy and a strong writer, able to learn new systems and looking for ways to optimize and improve processes. 

 Major Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate, personalized acknowledgement letters for major donors by consulting with fundraising staff and comprehensive review of databases, donor files, and company websites.
  • Assist in the process of drafting and finalizing Honoree and Chair letters.
  • Support and manage procedures involved with acknowledgement processes, including standard acknowledgements.
  • Update various acknowledgement tracking spreadsheets, creating and adding information as needed.
  • Process major donor gifts, manage filing system for back-up material, and vet criteria for custom letters.
  • Responsible for curating minutes of monthly FRD meeting
  • Various projects as assigned

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented, persistent, and curious
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with fundraising databases a plus.
  • Team player and proactive work ethic.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize and multitask in a demanding work environment.
  • Strong affinity for UJA’s mission and familiarity with Jewish life and Israel.

The salary for this role is $50,000.

TIME OFF

We offer a generous number of vacation days and have the Jewish holidays off as well. Fridays our offices close early (October to March at 3:00 pm and April to September at 4:00 pm). All so you can relax and recharge.
