About CSZ (Congregation Shaarey Zedek) Religious School:
CSZ Religious School Congregation Shaarey Zedek’s supplemental education for children from pre-kindergarten through B’nai mitzvah age. We gather once or twice a week, depending on age, to learn Hebrew, learn about Jewish culture, and learn Tefilah (prayer and blessings) and Torah. CSZ has a warm, welcoming school community that encourages families to participate in monthly programs and congregational services and events.

Position Overview:
Congregation Shaarey Zedek Religious School is seeking innovative and passionate educators to join our Religious School staff. CSZ is a joyful supplementary school for Jewish families in Metropolitan Detroit. We offer in-person and online classes for children of all ages, from preschool to high school. CSZ Religious School is committed to embracing Jewish learners of all levels and fostering a healthy, community-centered educational culture.
Teaching positions are available for teachers in early childhood, elementary and middle grades (Pre-K – 7). This position is for the 2024-25 school year, Sundays from 9:15 a.m. - 12:15pm, and Tuesdays from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Youth Staff positions are available through the summer on Saturday and Sunday mornings for varied youth activities/babysitting/Shabbat programming.
Compensation is $40-$55/hour commensurate with skills and experience.
As a CSZ Religious School educator, you will:
- Create and facilitate weekly lesson plans.
- Participate in regular all-school assemblies and services.
- Integrate new technologies and innovative curricula to create a vibrant educational experience.
- Connect with families to help them learn.
- Collaborate with clergy members, teaching staff, and teen aides.
- Participate in paid staff training.
