The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will work in conjunction with NYU Hillel and Bronfman Center staff to manage and bolster the success of NYU Hillel’s student engagement strategy. Their focus will be NYU Hillel’s Birthright Israel program, Israel education initiatives, and Israel-related student leadership opportunities.
The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement will be a dynamic self-starter, capable of envisioning and delivering upon a plan to grow the number of students engaging with Israel-related initiatives on campus including Birthright, educational initiatives, and student clubs. They will travel on NYU Hillel’s Birthright buses as well as provide support and inspiration to Birthright participants before and after their trip. They will develop experiences that engage students in Jewish life once back on campus, enabling students to think meaningfully about how they want to grow in their Jewish identities and what role Israel will play in their lives. They will supervise a number of Israel-related student clubs and interns, supporting the development of leaders for the NYU community and beyond.
The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement possesses contagious Jewish passion, entrepreneurial energy, strong leadership, and networking skills. They are a skilled organizer, critical thinker, marketer, and program developer. They are a team player with a passion for relationship building. The IACT Coordinator for Israel Engagement is excited to engage students in Israel and Jewish conversations, and has a deep understanding of Jewish identity as a framework for shaping meaning, value, and purpose in the lives of emerging adults.
In 1996, the Edgar M. Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life was founded at New York University as a home for Jewish students and a Jewish center for the whole university. As NYU has become a global network university, with 14 campuses worldwide, the Bronfman Center has become a global platform for encounter and innovation, broadening our influence to Jewish communities all over the world. Located in the heart of New York City, NYU hosts the largest Jewish student-run event in the country, “Shabbat for 2000,” an inclusive Shabbat dinner for 2,000 students. Our signature programs are educationally intensive and offer students transformative experiences through learning (the Jewish Learning Fellowship and Kollel), leadership (Engagement Internship and Collegiate Leadership Internship Program), or travel (Bronfman Global Ambassadors). About Hillel International
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at more than 550 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
