About You

We are looking for someone who has a sincere and genuine interest in the importance of FIDF’s mission of supporting soldiers, families, and veterans of the Israel Defense Forces, can manage multiple initiatives occurring simultaneously, and interested in building connections and fostering relationships. To be successful in the role, the Young Leadership Manager must be confident, enthusiastic, persuasive influencer, and a creative self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a team player.

 

About The Role

FIDF is currently seeking a full-time Young Leadership Manager, who will report to the Central Region Directors and will be a member of the dynamic, professional, and fast-paced National Young Leadership team. The Central Region includes Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and North Texas. The National Young Leadership Campaign is focused on developing and implementing an organization-wide strategy to engage and fundraise within a key demographic group of young professionals, ages 21-40, with a focus on building a lay leadership talent pipeline.

The focus of this job is making connections with young professionals, motivating, and inspiring them to achieve growth of our Young Leadership division and support for the soldiers of Israel. This role has a variety of tasks and is dynamic, always working on creating the next inspiring experience to engage the future generation of Jewish leaders and Israel supporters.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing Young Leadership donors to retain and increase support.
  • Organize and manage logistics for local events including local chapter committee meetings, parlor meetings, Shabbat dinners, large-scale Galas, etc.
  • Represent FIDF at various events to engage prospects and identify partnership opportunities.
  • Manage local YL communications and related tasks including, but not limited to: responding to requests for information from donors and executing chapter e-blasts/newsletters.
  • Effectively utilize the CRM platform, ensuring chapter data integrity to support decision making and prospect management.
  • Manage local social media pages, as well as set-up, manage and track event registrations
  • Board Governance
    • Maintain timely and effective communication with local lay leaders (lay leaders are volunteers who help fund raise and bring members into our community).Work with local Board members and lay leaders and serve as a resource to those who engage in prospect/donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Recruit for the National Young Leadership Mission to Israel.
  • Manage local expenses and fundraising budget.
  • Assist with the local chapter events and campaigns.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
  • Minimum 3 years of fundraising, events, and/or community building experience
  • Understanding of local Jewish community
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications required and experience using CRM tools, with Raisers Edge experience preferred
  • Frequent travel within the U.S. required (Approx 40-50 days a year)
  • Ability to travel locally required as well as occasional work on evenings and Sundays required
  • Occasional travel to Israel required
  • Must reside in the Chicago area – day-to-day will be WFH
