Regional Development Director - NY, NJ #994

Our client, Chai Lifeline www.chailifeline.org seeks to hire a Regional Development Director, to cover the NY area, including Long Island and Northern NJ, including Bergen County.

They will be responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with high-net-worth donors and prospects. To build relationships, the DoD will plan local fundraising events and programs in targeted communities and support national fundraising programs such as Chai Lifeline's National Gala and regional and peer-to-peer events. The Director of Development reports to the Chief Development Officer based in New York City. 

This job can be full-time, or part-time for a seasoned professional. It can be Hybrid, or Remote (within commuting distance to the NYC office).  

Qualifications:

• Must embrace the mission of Chai Lifeline. 
• 10+years of Major Gift Fundraising experience.
• Experience and proven success in top-level fundraising. 
• Experience fundraising in the Five-Towns and Northern NJ, a plus.
• Possess the skills to work with and motivate donors, board members, and other volunteers. 
• Strong interpersonal and writing skills. 
• Be a self-starter and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls. 
• Display a positive attitude and passion for the organization, demonstrate self-confidence, common sense and be a good listener. 

Job Responsibilities:

• The primary job responsibility is creating and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects to raise philanthropic support for Chai Lifeline. 
• Engage in direct and systematic prospect identification, research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals.  
• Work with Chai Lifeline's Development team and senior management to develop program understanding, drafting funding proposals, and developing prospect engagement strategies. 
• Maintain all donor engagement information and cultivation plans through Chai Lifeline's Salesforce donor database. 
• Occasional travel within the United States will be required.
