Development Associate

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) was established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors to provide for the education and wellbeing of the men and women who serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as well as the families of fallen soldiers. Headquartered in New York City, FIDF is a 501c3 not-for-profit corporation that operates 24 regional offices in the United States and Panama.

FIDF offers educational, cultural, recreational, and social services programs and facilities that provide hope, purpose, and life-changing support for the soldiers who protect Israel and Jews worldwide. Their job is to look after Israel. Ours is to look after them.

Position Summary:

The Development Associate assists the Chapter Director with fundraising and chapter operations. A sophisticated and diplomatic personality who can work comfortably with people of influence and affluence is desireable.

It is important for the Development Associate to have a sincere and genuine interest in the importance of FIDF's mission of supporting current soldiers, veterans, and families of the Israel Defense Forces.

The Development Associate reports to the Chapter Director.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college preferred.

A minimum of 1 year fundraising and event experience.

Demonstrated experience with Raiser's Edge or other CRMs.

Has the ability to work extremely flexible work hours including late nights, holidays and weekends.

Displays exceptional time-management and organizational skills as needed for meeting deadlines.

Shows persuasiveness and the ability to procure donors, funders and items needed for fundraising efforts.

Demonstrates a professional demeanor whether speaking to others in person, over the phone, via email or through letters.

Works well alone as well as under direct supervision.

Essential Job Duties:

Works to acquire new donors and manages a portfolio to achieve assigned KPIs.

Keeps in regular contact with donors during and after fundraising events.

Uses Raiser's Edge to maximize fundraising results.

Maintains the accuracy and integrity of databases by ensuring that all information is kept current and up to date.

Troubleshoots database issues.

Provides support to various committees and volunteers during fundraising campaigns and events.

Assists with the creation and finalization of guest lists for events.

Uses Constant Contact and other means of commuication to potential donors, volunteers and guests in order to inform them of events and activites.

Provides support for promotional activities, including social media.

Performs administrative duties such as filing, data entry and maintaining a filing system.

Assists in scheduling meeting with prospective donors.

Local travel and availability some evening and Sundays required.

Performs other duties as requested.
