Congregation Beth El, a large Conservative synagogue in the vibrant Jewish community of Southern New Jersey, is seeking a technologically savvy individual to serve as our Zoom Master for Shabbat services on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. Our Zoom Master plays a key part in making our participants home an extension of our Sanctuary and Chapel. The right candidate will possess prior Zoom experience and is proficient with running Zoom meetings including audio/video controls, spotlighting users, and managing chat.
The hours required for this position are Fridays from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Other shifts may be available for holiday celebrations and services. Zoom Masters are required to dress professionally when running Zoom as they are seated in the same space as our in-person service attendees.
o Set-up laptop, Zoom TV and test all connections prior to going live on Zoom.
o Monitor audio feed during Zoom
o Manage video during Zoom including camera control and utilizing presets to give those on Zoom the best experience possible.
o Manage chat as needed
o Monitor participant activity as needed
o Manage recording of Zoom service as needed
o Enable and manage live transcription (CC) as needed
o Breakdown set-up as needed after services have ended
o Create virtual backgrounds using PowerPoint or Publisher to use during breaks in service
