Epstein Hillel School is hiring a Lower School Jewish Studies Teacher

Epstein Hillel School (EHS), a vibrant and progressive preK-8 Jewish community day school in Marblehead Massachusetts, seeks a dynamic and flexible individual who loves teaching Jewish Studies and understands how to engage students in grades K-3.

At EHS we provide a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum that fosters critical thinking, curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in our students. We are a tight knit and vibrant community that prioritizes creativity, flexibility, and rich academic experiences to help students meet their potential while strengthening their identity and connection to the Jewish community. Our students not only excel academically, but they also think independently, work collaboratively, and become engaged leaders with a deep sense of Jewish pride. If you are looking for a school where teachers are passionate about teaching and learning and are committed to every child, where the “head of school” is the “head learner”, and where “going to work” feels like “coming home”, then you are looking for EHS.

EHS is not just a job to us - it is a family. Our warm, joyful, and supportive school culture extends from faculty and staff to students and families. Everyone here has a real passion and calling to work with children. If that is you too, we encourage you to apply.

The ideal candidate has outstanding teaching ability, sensitivity to the social and emotional needs of young children, strong organizational skills, and is driven to explore ways to reach all learners through differentiated instruction in a child-centered classroom. You must live a traditional Orthodox lifestyle and be a role model for yiddishkeit. References should speak to the candidate’s ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. We prioritize strong collaborative and communication skills, a positive attitude and desire to grow professionally, and the ability to inspire curiosity and creativity in young students.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Supporting the mission, philosophy, and core values of EHS
  • Delivering age-appropriate lessons and assessments using a variety of teaching strategies
  • Integrating technology effectively to enhance instruction
  • Communicating with parents through weekly newsletters, email, and conferences
  • Attending all required faculty meetings and school sponsored events

Qualifications

  • The position requires the ability to teach Chumash, Chagim, Tefillah, and Israel
  • A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (with proficiency in Hebrew)
  • 3-5 years teaching experience; master’s degree in education preferred
