Staff Accountant 6191

This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a mission-focused organization and contribute to its financial integrity. This role supports key financial processes and ensures compliance through accurate and timely reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Reconcile the General Ledger, including AP, fixed assets, and prepaid accounts.
• Review balance sheet account reconciliations for accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and custom reporting.
• Align external funding data with internal financial systems.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis.
• Contribute to year-end audit prep, including schedules and documentation.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and review AR/AP aging reports.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA a plus.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally in nonprofit and grant accounting.
• Experience with MIP/Abila software and strong Excel skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial practices.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
