StandWithUs is an international, nonpartisan Israel education organization that inspires and educates people of all ages and backgrounds, challenges misinformation, and fights antisemitism. We empower and energize students and communities with leadership training and educational programs on hundreds of college campuses, high schools, and middle schools. We inform through social media, print and digital materials, films, weekly newsletters, and missions to Israel. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Los Angeles, the organization has programs on six continents with chapters and offices throughout the U.S., Israel, the UK, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands, Australia, and South Africa.

Position Summary

The K-12 Fairness Center provides high quality professional development to K-12 educators (board members, superintendents, principals, central office administrators, teachers); provides expert technical assistance to teachers, parents, and others facing antisemitism in their K-12 schools and districts; consults and trains parent and community groups to build and manage relationships with their schools and districts to better prevent and respond to incidents of antisemitism; provides thorough, expert reviews of curriculum and K-12 educational materials; and manages a network of K-12 Jewish educators and allies to share resources and support and guide the development of Jewish affairs caucuses in teachers unions nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of projects from blueprint to implementation and evaluation, collaborating across departments and the larger organization to ensure measurable outcomes align with StandWithUs and the K-12 Fairness Center’s mission and vision.
  • Create and implement cohesive strategies for building a nationwide network of K-12 educators who care about the Jewish people, Israel, and fighting antisemitism.
  • Assist educators and others facing a variety of local, state, and national challenges, from antisemitic incidents to anti-Israel bias, bringing in other StandWithUs departments as needed.
  • Develop and conduct professional development for educators both virtually and in person, with occasional travel.
  • Must be able to travel to NYC approximately once per month.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with local and national partner organizations in the field of K-12 education.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key decision-makers, including state education officials, school board members in major districts, and other education leaders.
  • Assist with the development of educational materials and programs suitable for teachers and students at public and private non-Jewish K-12 schools.
  • Assist with grant reporting to foundations.
  • Find and apply for new grants.
  • Work simultaneously with multiple StandWithUs departments, such as the High School, Research & Strategy, Legal, Graphic Design, Video, and Social Media.
  • Communicate consistently and professionally with colleagues, partner organizations, educators, students, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of local, regional, and national conferences, events, and summits as needed (this may include leading educational presentations or sessions).

Additional Duties – The Associate Director, K-12 Fairness Center should be available to the executive management team for additional assignments as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Must have experience as an educator and have a B.A. in a relevant field. Master's degree in elementary/secondary education, education administration, or another relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in K-12 public education in the United States.
  • Knowledge about non-Jewish private school education preferred.
  • Proven record of success in leadership, outreach, and organizing as an educator and/or administrator.
  • In-depth knowledge of and passion for Israel, the Jewish people, international affairs, and current events.
  • Strong writing, research, and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to write curriculum, lesson plans, and other educational materials preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication, including public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze data in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a changing research environment.
  • A high degree of creativity and flexibility to resolve problems, overcome obstacles, and meet organizational objectives and demands.
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, organized, reliable, team player, proactive, strong work ethic, leadership skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Demonstrated project management, supervisory, and time management skills.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, and other applications.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently within a team.
  • Must be located in the Northeastern US

Position Location: Northeast United States, some travel to NYC required.
Position Start Date: Immediately upon hire.
Salary Range: $90,000 - 95,000 commensurate with experience.
