MHWOW Program Specialist

Mem Global Hub Office: NYC, Washington, D.C., Chicago, or Charlotte

Who We Are:

Mem Global is where Jewish young adults in their 20s and early 30s come to connect, explore, and create meaningful Jewish experiences with their peers. As the umbrella brand for our global suite of programs, Mem Global supports young adults as they bring Judaism to life through thousands of peer-driven gatherings across 25+ countries each year. We’re all about creating spaces where Jewish young adults can lead, embrace, learn, and build the kind of community that will build a strong and vibrant Jewish future for all of us.

The MHWOW (Moishe House Without Walls) team at Mem Global is seeking a Program Specialist to engage in relationship-building, networking, and recruiting young adults to become leaders in building community in their hometown. This role manages current MHWOW Hosts and drives growth by building relationships, networking locally, and recruiting, onboarding, and launching new Hosts across North America. The Program Specialist is a member of the MHWOW team and will also be a member of the Mem Global Resident Support (RS) team to provide support through mid-2026. This position reports to the Director, MHWOW.

The hundreds of MHWOW (pronounced letter “M”, letter “H”, and WOW) Hosts around the world gather their peers for Jewish experiences that range from Friday night Shabbat dinners to holiday celebrations, learning events, and cultural celebrations. MHWOW Hosts decide who they want to invite, where they want to host, what they want to explore in Judaism, and when they want to gather. This flexibility empowers MHWOW Hosts to explore, create, or refine their own Jewish practice. MHWOW hosts receive funding and resources to make programs relevant and accessible to their communities.

Who You Are and What You'll Do:

  • You have a strong passion for Jewish community building and our mission.
  • You are a strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • You bring a data-driven approach to decision-making and can combine that with your enthusiasm for fostering peer-led Jewish experiences, to think strategically and critically about the community building process. Your skills in research and analysis will support the development and enhancement of programs that engage young adults in meaningful and impactful ways.
  • You’ll be a team player, and as a member of the MHWOW team, you’ll have responsibility for growing and maintaining MHWOW and supporting the Resident Support team in the following ways:
    • MHWOW Host Support and Management:
      • Build strong relationships with MHWOW Hosts to deliver consistent, high-quality, high-attendance Jewish programs, and ensure all required documentation is submitted on time.

      • Lead recruitment efforts to expand MHWOW by identifying and onboarding new hosts in targeted communities.
      • Develop strategies to sustain engagement and increase program impact, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the participant experience.
      • Show up as a connector; you get energy from meeting people, building trust, and are eager to travel to meet hosts, collaborate across hub offices, and staff Mem Global gatherings.
      • Represent MHWOW in conversations with funders and stakeholders, sharing insights on program impact and growth.
      • Activate and motivate MHWOW Hosts for the annual WE ARE fundraising campaign.
      • Assist in creating and executing resources for Jewish rituals, holidays, and cultural celebrations in collaboration with the Marketing and Jewish Education teams.
    • RS Team Support, Special Projects, & Cross Team Collaboration:
      • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Resident Support (RS) team responsible for the Moishe House and Moishe Pod programs.
      • Support, staff, and recruit for weekend-long retreats with Mem Global community builders.
      • Note: this role will start with a portfolio shared across the MHWOW and Resident Support teams, then shift progressively toward MHWOW as the program’s host count grows.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent four years of work experience.
  • You have at least 2 years of full-time post-undergraduate (beyond a bachelor’s degree) professional experience.
