Director of Youth Education K-12 (Part-Time)
20-25 Hours per week, salary commensurate with experience (if candidate has musical/song-leading ability and would like to add this to their portfolio, this can be added to the position, for both some occasional Erev Shabbat services and for holidays, and Religious School).
Temple Beth Sholom of Orange County is a 275-family congregation in Santa Ana, CA. We are looking for a part-time Director of Youth and Family Education to guide our Religious/Hebrew School and create family engagement programming. We currently create learning pods by age group. The Director will work with our Rabbi and Lay leadership to create an innovative and content rich program that will draw families to our community.
Overall Responsibilities:
Planning for Religious/Hebrew School Objectives
Hiring and supervising faculty
Facilitating Hebrew School (Midweek and Sunday. Potential for midweek to be remote via zoom)
Communication to School families
High Holy Day Children's activities in Partnership with the Rabbi
Budget Planning and Oversight
Planning, Facilitating and Coordinating monthly family education activities
Coordinating Grade Level Shabbat activities.
Create and facilitate Post-B'nai Mitzvah Curriculum (Grades 8-12)
Help Plan Holiday all-school events (Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim, Pesach)
