Description

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
For over 125 years, The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) has boldly imagined a world that values and supports women, children, and families and has had a role in the passage of every major piece of civil rights and economic justice legislation in this country. Today, NCJW advances its mission across four core pillars of work: protecting and expanding abortion access; safeguarding and promoting the right to vote; pushing for fair, independent, and qualified judges on federal courts; and building the feminist field in Israel.

Todays Impact:
NCJWs long tradition of nonpartisan progressive social change-making through a powerful combination of community organizing, education, direct service, and advocacy has never been more important. NCJWs intersectional work in progressive and Jewish spaces has resulted in deep partnerships with secular and faith-based human rights organizations, BIPOC-led grassroots organizations, and governmental allies. NCJW had lead roles in many progressive coalitions and legacy networks.

With 50+ local 501c3 sections in 30 states, NCJW has long been mobilizing a grassroots network of 200,000+ advocates to fight for what is right and just. In the past year alone, the organization doubled their number of advocates, in large part because of the unabashedly Jewish and feminist framework NCJW uses to respond to some of the greatest challenges facing women and children today.

The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is a grassroots organization of volunteers and advocates who turn progressive ideals into action. Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW improves the quality of life for women, children, and families.
