Description

Congregation Shearith Israel, a Conservative synagogue in Atlanta, is seeking a reliable, organized, and proactive part-time Administrative Assistant to join our team. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth daily operations of our office and providing crucial support to our staff, clergy, and community.

This is a part-time position, with a total of 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high level administrative support to the office of the Executive Director and Rabbi.
  • Manage general office tasks, including answering phones, greeting visitors and congregants, responding to emails, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to congregants, visitors, and vendors, both in person and over the phone.
  • Perform accurate and efficient data entry and maintain organized records.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of communications, including proficiency in using mail merge for mailings.
  • Print, email, and mail synagogue communications, including, but not limited to, thank you notes, birthday and anniversary cards, yahrzeit notifications, and donation acknowledgments.
  • Manage calendars and schedule appointments and meetings for various staff members.
  • Support staff with special projects and administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with technology, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar).
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, adaptable approach.
  • Experience with data entry and general office operations.
  • Experience in a customer service role is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Judaism and synagogue life.
  • Experience with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software.
