The Director of Alumni Relations is a new role at YouthBridge-NY, which is under the umbrella of the Jewish Community Relations Council of NY. We are looking for someone who is committed and dedicated to the mission of YouthBridge-NY and JCRC-NY and can be a “brand ambassador” for all things Alumni related, and will help build and maintain our community of alumni and alumni families. The Director is responsible for key strategic planning relating to alumni relations, volunteer management, and events for YouthBridge-NY. This person will work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues within YouthBridge-NY and the Alumni Council to ensure that alumni relations and development are a part of a collaborative process contributing to organizational goals of engagement, communication, and fundraising. The Director will work with and report to the Executive Director to set a vision for a successful and growing alumni community.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy for continued engagement with YouthBridge-NY alumni throughout the year, including the publication of 4 alumni newsletters and execution of regular alumni events
  • Help identify and engage alumni to be part of an active alumni committee.
  • Develop relationships with alumni and cultivate and nurture leadership for each cohort
  • Build and lead the Alumni Council
  • Support the Alumni Council to develop and facilitate online and in-person educational and social programming for alumni in North America
  • Direct and orchestrate additional and more creative fundraising campaigns aimed at alumni and their families
  • Outreach to schools and assist with new recruits and strengthen branding in schools and nonprofits in the catchment area
  • Work closely with the YouthBridge-NY staff and help coordinate general (non-alumni) YouthBridge-NY programming
  • Coordinate and produce reports, proposals, and analyses for the executive staff and Board of Directors, to include monthly budget to actual reviews of areas of programmatic responsibility, periodic reports to reflect relevant data gathering and analysis, and post-event reports and recommendations
  • Other responsibilities as needed as the organization grows

 

Skills/Requirements:

  • Commitment and dedication to the mission of YouthBridge-NY and JCRC-NY
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and engage alumni leaders
  • Ability to design and write promotional material
  • Strong database management skills and ability to produce detailed reports
  • Occasional travel and ability to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends)
  • Self-sufficient, enjoys working independently, while also committed to working as a member of a team
  • Experience in marketing and development for non-profit organizations is a plus

 

This is a hybrid position; work from home 3 days a week, with frequent in-person meetings and events. Benefits include: health and dental insurance, PTO, company laptop, and much more. Salary range is $60-70k, commensurate with experience.
