Southeast Region Development Director #995

Our client, Chai Lifeline  www.chailifeline.org  seeks to hire a Southeast Region Development Director. They will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all Chai Lifeline fundraising activities within the region. These include major gift solicitation, planning fundraising events and programs, growing and strengthening Young Leadership, and other development-related work.  The Director of Development reports to the Chief Development Officer based in New York City and works closely with the Southeast Regional Director in all development and fundraising endeavors. 

This job can be full-time, or part-time for a seasoned professional. It can be Hybrid, or Remote (within commuting distance to the Ft. Lauderdale office).  

Qualifications:

• Must embrace the mission of Chai Lifeline.
• 10+years of Major Gift Fundraising experience.
• Have professional experience and proven success in nonprofit fundraising. 
• Possess the skills to work with and motivate donors, board members, and other volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal and written skills.
• Be a self-starter and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
• Convey the importance of Chai Lifeline's work in the Southeast, demonstrate self-confidence and common sense, and be a good listener.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement short- and long-term development strategies to support Chai Lifeline's mission and fundraising goals. 
• The primary job responsibility is creating and managing a portfolio of donors and prospects.
• Engage in direct and systematic prospect identification, research, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals. Build strong connections with Chai Lifeline's supporters and prospective supporters in the Southeast Region. 
• Collaborate with the Regional Director on annual campaign fundraising and donor events. Implement effective lay engagement strategies to build and leverage regional volunteer leadership.
• Advance the presence of Chai Lifeline's Young Leadership around high-value events and activities that further interactions with next-generation leaders as they transition into leadership roles. 
• Work with Chai Lifeline's Development team and senior management to develop program understanding, draft funding proposals, and develop prospect engagement strategies.
• Maintain all donor engagement information and cultivation plans through Chai Lifeline's Salesforce donor database.
• Occasional travel required.
