TITLE:                       Administrative Assistant/Education Support

CLASSIFICATION:            Full-Time, Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:         Executive Director and Office Manager

SUMMARY:       Provide administrative and staff support to the Clergy Team, primarily to the Cantor, with the B’nai Mitzvah process and to our KESHER religious school.  Help support and maintain our professional work setting and enjoy collaborative relationships that engender a warm team environment.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, but are not limited to:

 B’nai Mitzvah Support

  • Administrative support to Clergy and B'nai Mitzvah Tutor (e.g., scheduling, development of materials, communication with families, etc.)
  • Serve as resource for families with questions regarding the B’nai Mitzvah process.
  • Maintain, update and analyze all data pertaining to B'nai Mitzvahs and communicate, as needed.

 

KESHER (K-12 Religious School) Administrative Support

  • Assist with on-going communications to the KESHER community.
  • Coordinate event lists, RSVPs, name tags, etc. for KESHER and other Family programs.
  • Assist with Hebrew lesson scheduling.

 General Administrative Support

  • Be a welcoming presence for the Temple. Answer phones, assist with mailings, typing and inquiries, as needed, as part of our office administrative team.
  • Support Clergy, educators and other administrative support functions, as directed from time to time by the Executive Director and Office Manager.
  • Support special projects of the LT administrative team.
  • Administrative support to the Cantor, including managing her calendar.
  • Responsibilities may be modified or supplemented at any time based on the needs of the Temple, as determined by the Executive Director and the Office Manager.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 plus years of office administrative experience
  • Proven excellent communication, writing and editing skills
  • Attuned, people skills, thoughtful/sensitive
  • Understanding of Judaism, Jewish practices and terminology preferred
  • Warm, welcoming, personable, and flexible
  • Enthusiastic about meeting the challenges of working with staff, clergy, board of trustees and congregants.
  • Self-starter, highly organized, detail oriented, ability to juggle multiple tasks and work independently
  • Have ease with technology, and be a quick learner on new systems
  • Has extensive experience working with Office programs, mail merge, Google Apps, Excel and Adobe programs. Database management experience a plus
  • Be able to handle confidential information and act with discretion

 Other:
