Position
SHI North America (SHI NA) has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated, experienced, creative, and organized professional to represent the Institute.
The Director of Engagement for the East Coast will play a primary role in managing Hartman educational initiatives in New York, Boston, DC, and potentially other East Coast cities. This professional will work closely with organizational partners on the ground and serve as an important relationship manager. Key responsibilities include program development, internal management, and administration, understanding of Hartman educational frameworks, relationship management, public presence, excellent communication, and collaboration with SHI NA colleagues. The position requires someone who is an excellent relationship builder, communicator, strong on follow-through, detail-oriented, quick learner, and a team player. The idea candidate for this position will also have a commitment to SHI NA’s mission, will be someone who can take initiative in identifying problems and devising solutions, and must have strong interpersonal skills to help implement those solutions with good judgment, discretion, and tact. Based in New York, and reporting to our Vice President for Educational Operations and Regional Strategy, this individual will work closely in partnership with the colleagues across the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Serve as the face of SHI NA in multiple cities and speak in public settings
- Designing, planning, and executing periodic program initiatives in multiple cities. This includes managing faculty preparation, overseeing travel, budget, and educational materials and content with administrative support
- Work in close partnership with Hartman partners on the ground in these cities to ensure their educational experiences are well designed and implemented
- Steward existing relationships and cultivating new partnerships
- Work in partnership with national program and faculty teams across the organization
Qualifications
Experience and Knowledge
- Knowledge of the Jewish communal landscape
- Proven track record cultivating and managing individuals and institutional relationships and partnerships
- Experience with implementing educational programs
- Demonstrated experience with organizing events, managing timelines
- Strong understanding of or ability to learn SHI NA’s educational content, key questions, and unique approach

- Ability to travel frequently around the East Coast and Israel at times

Education Level
- BA / BS or equivalent, and related MA or higher
Salary range and benefits: $120,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience. Very competitive benefits package. SHI NA is an equal opportunity employer.
