Job Description:

Part-time position: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with the potential for additional hours at hourly rate.

Objectives:

  1. Establish and maintain financial tracking systems within JOWMA systems.
  2. Collaborate with and advise the CFO on financial standing, as well as finance decisions and needs of the organization.
  3. Support JOWMA executive leadership and project directors by assisting with grant applications, facilitation, and compliance.

Grant Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with creating budgets, reviewing proposals, and providing supporting documents related to project funding proposals.
  • Ensure complete documentation of funding awards, and monitor receipt of all grant funds.
  • Work with project directors to:
    • Comply with funder’s terms and conditions.
    • Manage deliverables.
    • Monitor spending.
    • Request amendments.
    • Plan spending.

  • Participate in meetings with potential grant partners.
  • Work with project directors to identify potential partnerships, grants, and sponsorships related to JOWMA activities.

Finance Responsibilities:

  • Support JOWMA’s Board of Directors, members, and committees as needs arise.
  • Carefully track and record utilization of grant awards within the organization.
  • Create a streamlined process for organizing JOWMA funds and financial records.
  • Communicate with committees regarding careful record keeping of approved budget funds.
  • Maintain running knowledge of JOWMA finances to advise on utilization of funds and areas with opportunities for growth.
  • Assist CEO and CFO in developing processes for streamlined spending and budget tracking for JOWMA.
  • Pay invoices for committee and organizational expenses.
  • Assist with reconciling JOWMA spending as well as consolidation of income/expenses for yearly taxes.
  • Oversee payroll of all JOWMA staff.
  • Carefully track expenses related to JOWMA functionality and liability.
