The IT Support Specialist performs installation and support of PC hardware, software and associated peripheral devices. Acts as the first point of contact for I. T. Help Desk calls. Maintains current knowledge of client technologies, hardware and software to troubleshoot and remedy End-User computer issues. Assists with special projects and identifies improvement opportunities based on trends in Helpdesk tickets. Provides computer use assistance and basic training to the End-User community. Performs user account maintenance and basic administration of network servers within the Information Technology operation.

Monitors the overall status of Helpdesk tickets and escalates issues to other IT staff members at needed. Assists other members of technical teams within IT in maintaining system-wide productivity and security applications, building a computing environment maximizing productivity and security.



Essential Functions

Support the End-user community by answering calls and requests for technical assistance. Diagnose and resolve PC and network problems and escalate serious issues to other I.T. staff members.
Support the Windows Operating System and Office application suite. Provide End-users with basic instructions/training on computer use, network access, as well as utilization of the MS Office Suite and similar software.
Management of User accounts and provisioning in a Microsoft Office 365 and Cloud Azure services environment.
Set up PC hardware and install computer software for new employees and replacements PC’s.
Monitoring and maintenance of desktop operation and performance.
Perform software and hardware upgrades of key components of the computing infrastructure.
Document installation and administration procedures for key systems and network components.
Install and configure computer accessories and small network/communications equipment.
Administration of Spiceworks Cloud Helpdesk software and services.
Record Help Desk requests in the tracking database and monitor the progress of resolution.
Provides training to end users on basic use of computers and features of MS Office suite.
Repair PC hardware and/or coordinate repairs with outside service providers.
Maintain I.T. equipment inventory records.
Administer User accounts in Microsoft Azure. Install and provide general support for other system software and administration tools.
Assist in deployments of system software, such as upgrades or new installations.
Configure, deploy and support mobile devices (Smart phones, etc).
Provide “off-hours” and “on-call” coverage as needed.
Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Requirements
Education:
• College Degree preferred or equivalent training and experience.
Experience:
• 1-3 years experience in PC Support and reasonable proficiency in some areas of network and server administration.
• 1+ years experience with Microsoft Windows 10 operating system and working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite and Cloud Azure services.
Skills/Competencies:
• Strong Customer Service orientation and good End-User interaction skills.

Working Conditions:
-Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, much of which will be working at a computer.
• Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift
frequently.
• Common tasks will include crawling under desks and lifting
heavy packages, up to 50lbs.
-Working occasionally on weekends and nights may be required.
