An exciting opportunity exists to lead Student to Student Inc., (“STS”) a new independent, national Jewish organization focused both on combating Antisemitism among high school students and equipping Jewish teens to become more confident leaders able to identify Antisemitism and speak up about it.
STS oversees the Student to Student program (”Student to Student”) in which Jewish high school students lead classroom presentations in schools with few if any Jewish students. The program has been operating for 30 years and been shown to reduce bigotry, combat Antisemitism and dispel negative stereotypes of Jews. Student to Student is currently operating in ten cities nationwide and until recently when STS was formed, was run by the Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis. The mission of STS is to expand the Student to Student program even further across the United States and become a leader in fighting Antisemitism and bigotry among teens.
STS is seeking a dynamic Executive Director who is passionate about reducing Antisemitism through direct peer to peer interaction in the high school classroom. The Executive Director will become the public face of the new organization and will lead the expansion of Student to Student to other geographic markets in the United States. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with exceptional strategic planning skills, a great communicator, a skilled manager and a proven fund raiser. Candidates should have at least 8-10 years of relevant experience working for either a non-profit organization or a company in the private sector. An MBA or other relevant graduate degree is preferred.
The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to develop a national expansion strategy. The Executive Director will have overall responsibility for implementing the expansion strategy which will involve identifying cities for program growth, determining operating partners (licensees) in each city, meeting funding needs in each city, establishing licensee regions, etc. The Executive Director will also be responsible for promoting Student to Student which will include marketing communications, social media and public relations.
Working with the Program Director, the Executive Director will be responsible for providing training and support to new and existing operating partners/licensees, updating instructional manuals and methods, establishing best practices among all operating partners/licensees, conducting independent research to validate the success of the program, etc. Other areas of responsibility include fund raising (grant writing, donor solicitations and recognition); financial reporting; budgeting; operations and administration.
STS is applying for 501c3 status. The organization has sufficient funding that will support its operations for the next two years. STS is based in St. Louis which is where the Executive Director and staff are located. Salary will be commensurate with experience and will be competitive with similar positions at Jewish non-profit organizations.
All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
