Candidates should be located in or willing to relocate to the Greater Washington (DC, MD, and Northern VA) region. This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, with 4 days a week required in the office (ideally Monday through Thursday).

Position Overview 

The IT Systems & Cybersecurity Specialist will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our organization's technology infrastructure. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including delivering exceptional customer service and technical support, managing various IT systems and tools, and spearheading cybersecurity initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless operations and effective technology utilization.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Serve as an ambassador and resource to the IT operations team for staff and other stakeholders. Be a visible resource to support any staff needs or change initiatives. In the office 9-5 Monday to Thursday and remote Fridays.
  • Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and vendor support to identify and address critical operational challenges, implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Lead cybersecurity endeavors, including incident response coordination, vulnerability management, management of detection and response vendors, oversight of security awareness platforms, and Dashlane password management platform.
  • Manage IT hardware and systems including Windows computers, MacOS laptops, copiers, office network, and VPN.
  • Provide guidance and support for huddle room and conference center technology, ensuring staff can utilize these resources effectively.
  • Assist with managing onsite physical security and building operations technology.
  • Manage IT Asset inventory including tracking of current user, patch status, equipment repair, loaners, equipment retirement and e-waste.
  • Lead user onboarding, offboarding and internal transfers including equipment set-up, desk set-up, onboarding, equipment collection during offboarding and systems training.
  • Create and maintain processes and workflows to sync data between systems and tools.
  • Implement and uphold digital security policies and systems to ensure a secure work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications 

  • 2-5 years of experience with IT Management and Cybersecurity.
  • Display robust project management and vendor coordination skills to drive efficient operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft administration and tools (e.g., Office365, Azure Active Directory, Intune, and Autopilot).  
  • Ability to use discretion and appropriate safeguards with confidential data.
  • Able to work productively with a wide array of people and provide a superior customer experience.
  • A confident and professional work style; must have the ability to work independently and to exercise good judgment in stressful circumstances.
  • Experience with, and curiosity about, trying new technologies and testing to learn and improve our work.
  • Solid understanding of digital security threats and best practices for their mitigation (e.g., SOC, NIST Cyber Security Framework, Center for Internet Security Controls)
  • Preferred Certifications: CompTIA A+, Security+, ISC2 CC, or Cisco CCNA
