Head Teacher

Temple Beth El Early Childhood Center located in Chappaqua, NY, is seeking a dedicated, creative, nurturing and energetic Head Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  Qualified candidates will bring an understanding of child development and demonstrate a talent for and enjoyment in working with young children, their parents and the larger school community.  Temple Beth El ECC is a play-based environment inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy.  We provide children a developmentally appropriate and rich early learning experience infusing Jewish values and traditions.

-Develop age-appropriate curriculum integrating learning into children’s play.

-Teach a class of preschoolers with support from an Assistant Teacher.

-Create and develop strong relationships with children in order to scaffold their learning, independence and social/emotional development.

-Work collaboratively with teachers across the age level.

-Conduct Parent/Teacher Conferences twice a year.

-Establish and maintain open/respectful communication directly with parents and co-workers.

-Observe and document children’s learning, which will be incorporated into a photo of the day/reflection.

Qualifications:

2 years early childhood teaching experience in a Jewish setting (preferred but not required).

Bachelor’s degree in teaching or related field (master’s degree preferred).
