Position Title: Executive Director - Georgia Israel Business Alliance (GIBA) at The Zalik Foundation

The Zalik Foundation is an Atlanta based foundation whose work supports its mission to create knowledgeable Jews, foster a thriving Jewish community in Atlanta and beyond, support Jewish children and seniors in need, and ensure a sovereign and thriving Israel.  The Zalik Foundation approaches its work in an entrepreneurial manner, taking calculated and thoughtful risks. 

The Georgia Israel Business Alliance (GIBA) is a new initiative incubated through The Zalik Foundation.  GIBA is a non profit organization whose mission is to increase economic development and foster technological partnerships between Georgia and Israel. Its purpose is to connect companies, investors, and innovators to drive mutual growth. GIBA’s strategy includes trade missions, networking events, and strategic collaborations across key industries. GIBA is dedicated to advancing business, investment, and innovation partnerships between the State of Georgia and the State of Israel. GIBA creates meaningful connections and serves as a catalyst for collaboration by connecting Georgia-based companies, investors, universities, and public agencies with innovators in Israel. 

Position Summary:

The Georgia Israel Business Alliance (GIBA) is seeking a visionary Executive Director to   execute and lead the organization's  mission, implement and drive  its strategic vision, and manage day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader with a strong background in economic development, international business, and stakeholder engagement, ideally with familiarity in both the Israeli and Georgia business ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:     

  • Strategic Leadership & Organizational Management
    • Develop and implement a multi-year strategic plan in coordination with the GIBA Board of Directors
    • Serve as the public face of GIBA across Georgia, Israel, and nationally 
    • Identify and cultivate opportunities for bilateral trade, investment, and innovation partnerships
  • Business Development & Execution 

    • Lead the design and execution of high-impact delegations of Georgia business and government leaders to Israel, and coordinate inbound delegations of Israeli companies to Georgia. Support these efforts in both Georgia and Israel by fostering meaningful business connections, trade, and investment opportunities
    • Identify and facilitate sector-specific partnerships with consulate, trade offices, chambers, and economic development groups to optimize itineraries and outcomes
    • Establish and grow relationships with companies, investors, and innovation hubs
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of Georgia-Israel business collaborations and business development opportunities
  • Operations & Fundraising
    • Oversee financial, programmatic, and administrative functions
    • Lead fundraising efforts from corporations, foundations, government entities and individual donors, including solicitations preparing grant proposals, and implementing fundraising events
    • Manage budgets and report financials to the GIBA board
  • Communications & Advocacy 

    • Represent GIBA in the media, at conferences, and in business forums
    • Develop messaging to communicate the value of Georgia-Israel business and or economic partnerships
    • Engage with state policymakers to support legislation and economic initiatives to further economic development between Georgia and Israel
  • Leadership

    • Hire, manage, and develop staff and contractors as needed
    • Work closely with the Board to plan and oversee all organization governance and ensure strategic alignment with board vision
    • Engage and train strong volunteer leaders
    • Develop and manage board committees, as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in business, public policy, or international relations preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership, economic development, business development, or international business
  • Experience organizing business delegations and/or bilateral trade missions
  • Strong familiarity with Israeli business and start-up ecosystem and Georgia’s business landscape
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building skills, and financial acumen
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
