Wanted: Engaging Song-leader and Youth Groups Advisor
Temple Kehillat Chaim, a Reform Congregation in Roswell, Georgia is looking for an energetic, engaging and skilled song leader and music specialist to join our community in July 2023.
We’re looking for someone who can bring people together through music.
Our ideal candidate is great with people of all ages, familiar with Reform Jewish worship and music, and plays the guitar.
Specific responsibilities include weekly participation in religious school on Sundays, Shabbat evening services, B’nai Mitzvah morning worship services and leading the junior choir.

Salary for Song Leader Position $15,000-17,000. Included in yearly salary is $200-250 per service, commensurate with experience. Services areapproxiamtely 60-90 minutes.
Music Specialist Responsibilities
- Approximately 40 Friday Night Services
- Approximately 10 Saturday Morning Services
- Holiday Services and Celebrations (Non-High Holy Days) to include, but not limited to, Simchat Torah, Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim and Passover Seder. Purim to include 4 rehearsals.
- Junior Choir
- Direct Jr. Choir, which includes leading rehearsals on Sunday and directing Jr. Choir at Family Shabbat and holidays, possibly including Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim, and Passover.
- Religious School
- Possibly a Hebrew tutor, includes singing/chanting
- Music teacher for Little Mensches-2nd Grade
- Assist Tefilah for 3-7th Grade
- Meet with Rabbi as needed to plan, and prepare for, services and programs.
Temple Kehillat Chaim, a URJ Reform synagogue, is seeking a part-time Junior Youth Group Advisor (JYG) and Senior Youth Advisor for our Senior Youth Group (RAFTY). We are open to the same person for both groups, or apply for one.

JYG Advisor
We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, organized individual who aims to make a significant positive Jewish impact in the life and experience of our 6-8th grade students.
The ideal candidate has a knowledge of Reform Judaism.
We're looking for an individual with a positive attitude, has strong work principles, effective problem-solving skills and a role model.
Potential candidates will be subject to a background-check.
START DATE: July 1, 2023
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Create, develop & implement 8 (eight) programs/activities and/or services for JYG
- Prepare for, and attend, Temple Kehillat Chaim calendar meetings.
- Attend 3 (three) Temple Kehillat Chaim Board of Trustees meetings (can be done virtually)
- Communicate with JYG members on a regular basis. Seek to involve active members and recruit those who are not.
- Write a quarterly Bulletin article and monthly report for Board of Trustees meetings in a timely fashion.
Salary for JYG Advisor $1800/year

RAFTY Advisor
We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, organized individual who aims to make a significant positive Jewish impact in the life and experience of our 9-12th grade students.
The ideal candidate has a knowledge of Reform Judaism and NFTY.
We're looking for an individual with a positive attitude, has strong work principles, effective problem-solving skills and a role model. Possibility of up to three (3) weekend Kallot per year (extra salary), High Holy Day Teen morning service facilitation with RAFTY board, hold monthly RAFTY board meetings with the RAFTY board to plan events, Youth Engagement service coordination, 8 events including a Lock-In and Camp Jenny Fundraiser, facilitate a leadership retreat for the RAFTY board.
Potential candidates will be subject to a background check.
START DATE: July 1, 2023
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Supervise and train the RAFTY board. Teach responsibility, follow through and flexibility. Help them evaluate their positions.
2. Attend 4 (four) TKC Board meetings (can be done virtually)
3. Coordinate with the RAFTY Youth Group President to produce quarterly Bulletin article and monthly report for Board Meetings.
4. Attend Youth Engagement meetings (up to 5 per year)
5. Maintain contact with NFTY Regional Director
Salary for RAFTY Advisor $5000/year
Travel and other related kallah expense allowance.
