Congregation Anshe Tikvah, a community congregation comprised of families who self-identify as Reform, Conservative, Traditional, Non-denominational, and Spiritual Seekers, is searching for a part-time Director of Education who will be responsible for our K-12 Jewish education program (Sunday/Mitzvah School and Midrasha). It is our hope that the new Director of Education will bring a joyful,creative, and compassionate spirit to the children and parents in our school. We want our children to be grounded in Jewish learning that will inspire a life(me of active Jewish living.

Areas of Responsibility

Administration
Oversee the administration and management of the Jewish education program (K-12) including the registration process, progress reports, email lists, school calendar, the youth educational content for congregational web site and all school communication. This includes oversight, communication, and coordination with the contracted Hebrew School provider.
Prepare and manage annual Jewish education programming budget in conjunction with the Education
and Finance Committee.
Recruit, train and supervise/evaluate Jewish education program faculty and staff after consultation with Education commitee chair.

Curriculum and Programming
Monitor, evaluate, and revise the Jewish education program curriculum from K-12 in collaboration with the faculty, Education Committee, and the Rabbi.

Teaching
Provide instruction, along with the Rabbi and other volunteer faculty, to the Jewish education program students (K-12).

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications
An ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, parents, and leadership both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of Judaism and a commitment to Jewish life and Jewish education.
Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.
Effective administrative skills, including attention on to details, organization, and written communication.
Ability to select or create and implement online asynchronous and synchronous learning modules for Hebrew School.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Computer literacy - including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Google Forms.
Experience in marketing Jewish education preferred.

Job Specifics 

Required hours in the building for the Jewish education program include Sundays (9:00am-1:30pm).

Position contingent on successful background check.
