Friendship Circle of Miami Beach is looking for a full time Program Coordinator. This critical role will include planning, coordinating and actively leading all weekly and seasonal programs & events. Applicants should have strong creative abilities, coupled with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Being adaptable and having high problem solving abilities is essential. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a leadership position, works in an assertive fashion, has strong interpersonal skills, is an excellent communicator and maintains cool under pressure.  Experience with the special needs community is a plus. Young Adult Program Coordinator
Job Duties & Responsibilities 

 

This full time position will develop, oversee, and manage a full-day program for at least 4 young adults who have exited high school with exceptional needs.

 

  • Answer inquiries from families about program
  • Develop and manage program schedule and attendance tracking
  • Develop inclusion/exclusion criteria for program
  • Develop intake document and situational assessment
  • Oversee screening, intake, and evaluation process
  • Develop individualized goals and assessments for each participant
  • Create and/or oversee curricula development for each program activity 
  • Oversee daily operations of program that may include:
    • Morning Meeting
    • Daily vocational training in the community
    • Lunch & daily living activities
    • Fitness & recreation
    • Transportation management 
  • Management of all communication with parents/job sites/instructors/facilitators 
  • Write and oversee any contracts and requirements (background clearance, w9, schedule, training) for contracted instructors
  • Develop partnerships with community businesses and or recreation sites, provide training for business staff, and fulfill any insurance requirements (i.e. copy of liability insurance)
  • Write and implement Policies & Procedures document for staff 
  • Develop Program Handbook for participants and families which includes program overview, program schedule, pick-up/drop off procedures, medication management, meals/snacks, emergency procedures, COVID procedures, behavior procedures, and acknowledgement signature page
  • Develop forms used for program such as program application, emergency contact, transportation agreement, COVID waiver, recurring payment/CC authorization page
  • Host an orientation for start of program
  • Manage transportation, vehicle maintenance, safety, and insurance requirements
  • Develop job descriptions & assist with the recruitment and hiring of instructors and assistant staff positions
  • Assist with marketing and outreach efforts for the program & social events
  • Plan, and oversee young adult community outings 2x month

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field
  • Two or more years experience managing a program for individuals with special needs in the community
  • Experience and training in utilizing Positive Behavior Supports
  • Flexible work schedule to include evenings & weekends
  • Reliable transportation to community locations
  • Experience teaching vocational, social, and independent living skills 
  • BLS (Basic Life Safety) certification that includes CPR, AED, and First Aid
  • Seizure Training
  • Level 2 Clearance
  • Ongoing Professional Development, as assigned
